Uh, one question, boss: Doesn't Gangster Squad kind of sound like WE'RE the Gangsters?
We return to a big, old-fashioned Hollywood flop with Gangster Squad, the movie that takes a bunch of good actors and a promising director and churns out a film that's absurd and deadly dull by turns. Meanwhile, Elliott gives Hoagie Carmichael gift advice, Stuart comes out for cast awareness, and Dan is tired and really doesn't keep up his end of the co-hosting duties. This episode brought to you by the letter "H."

Movie Summary[]

Premise[]

A handful of incorruptible LAPD cops takes on the Los Angeles crime syndicates (in addition to the rest of the police force) in this post-WWII crime drama.

Story[]

Ruthless, Brooklyn-born mobster Mickey Cohen has 1949 Los Angeles in an iron fist, as he accumulates a fortune from drugs, prostitution and gambling. Cohen has an army of paid goons at his disposal, but he also has certain policemen and politicians in his pocket. It's enough to intimidate even the bravest cop, until Los Angeles Police Department mavericks, Sgts. John O'Mara and Jerry Wooters, form a secret crew to bring Cohen to justice.
